If you are still doing your Christmas shopping and are looking for a fun, unique gift, the Sandy River Players have a suggestion for you: how about tickets for their upcoming production of “1776” ?
If you have friends and family that love theatre, especially musicals, or perhaps are deep into political debate about our country’s past and future, then “1776” tickets might be just the gift for them.
“1776” is the award-winning Broadway musical which tells the behind-the-scenes story of what led up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The story details, in both dramatic and humorous moments, how America’s first congressmen shaped history. The music is catchy and entertaining, and the characters will be intriguing portrayals by local actors of all ages and descriptions.
Performances are scheduled for January 12, 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30 and January 15 and 22 at 2:00. All performances will be in The Old North Church of Farmington, where the Players are partnering with the Farmington Historical Society, who will provide their famous pie social which begins at 6:30.
Tickets are $15 for seniors and students and $17 for the general public. They may be purchased at Devaney, Doak, and Garrett Bookstore starting Tuesday, December 20.
After New Year’s, tickets may also be purchased by calling the SRP reservation line from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. The number is 779-7884. Tickets will also be available at the door, but the Players recommend planning ahead.
